Pharm. (Mrs.) Yedunni Adenuga graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria in 1988 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. She joined the Federal Ministry of Health in 1990 and moved to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control as a foundation staff when the Agency was created in 1993.  She has a masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Ibadan and a Post Graduate Fellowship of the West African Postgraduate College specializing in Public Health.

She has worked in various capacities within the Agency across the country.  As a Regulatory Officer working in the South-west Zonal office Ibadan, she oversaw pharmaceutical inspections and has vast experience in other establishment inspections.

 

During her career, she was Osun State Coordinator and South-West Zonal Coordinator. She also worked at the Area Laboratory Kaduna as the head of the Drug Laboratory and worked in Drug Evaluation and Research Directorate, Lagos and Chemical Evaluation and Research Directorate Lagos. She was the pioneer Director of Laboratory Services Agulu   before moving to the Narcotics and Controlled Substances as the Director. She is currently working on projects such as the traceability pilot for narcotic medicines, Drud Demand Reduction activities and the National Drug Control Master Plan.

The various postings accorded her invaluable experience in Good Manufacturing Practice, document evaluation, risk-based inspections, investigation, enforcement, problem solving, training, Good Laboratory Practice among others. She is a team leader and mentors and trains young officers due to her vast experience as a field officer. She has attended several training programmes and seminars since joining the agency both within and outside the country and she has a few publications to her credit. She has represented the Agency at National and Interministerial Committee (on drug control), International meetings such as the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, Heads of National Drug Enforcement Agencies (Africa) and other engagements.
